b praak and raveena tandon are performing the filhaal english translation song. the track is done by the mumbai-based duo. with a modern veneer, the song hails from a different era. the song, “aaj zara (step ahead)”, reflects the simple nature of the theme and the intensity of the emotions.

filhaal, based on a novel by author and academic b v ramesh, tells the story of a surrogate mother, neelam (nargis fakhri), who gives birth to a baby after carrying her husband’s child, which was abandoned by him.

filhaal is a film where patriotism comes alive. there is no trace of any disbelief or any form of judgement in the film. if patriotism is your cup of tea, i suggest you watch this film. the film, with the right kind of message to the country, is a must watch. i was mesmerised to see how the veteran bachchan proved himself to be compassionate to his new avatar.

the audio ambience used in filhaal feels like satyajit ray in his best days. there is no post production done, the film is crisp and clean. the white sheets covering huge sets look visually stunning and reminded me of raj kapoor and shammi kapoor's baiju bawra films.

now, i am all for these modernization and am making no bones about it. however, i feel that filhaal (the first part) went a step too far, and made the protagonist a surrogate. also, the reactions from the audience in india and abroad were not as expected.

we, therefore, felt it was best to end filhaal part 2 here. we still have confidence in our film and would love to release filhaal part 3 in the future. so stay tuned. please do not take it to heart if we fail to release the second part of filhaal as soon as possible. it is not easy to end a film on such a note. however, we hope that the trailer we put up is not the end of it, as we have many surprises in store for you! 3d9ccd7d82
